Advocacy

For Children’s Hospitals to effectively provide teaching and training opportunities and embark on research towards improving child health outcomes across Africa, they need investments in infrastructure, human resources and financing. This will emerge through the recognition that Children’s Hospitals are a needed part of the healthcare landscape in Africa, and that collectively, they have the potential to be powerful and effectual advocates for children’s health.

At AfCHF, we are advancing Child Health on the African continent as a critical development issue, requiring a coordinated and collaborative approach. Our approach involves addressing training, infrastructure development, research & collaboration, integrating them into the wider healthcare system while advancing advocacy.

Our advocacy activities are directed at creating policies, frameworks and guidelines that support existing and new dedicated Children’s Hospitals and healthcare systems. We do so by engaging governments, private sector leaders, development agencies and non profits whose opinions and actions influence policy makers, to drive resources towards supporting dedicated Children’s Hospitals across Africa.
